Ichijo Ietsune (一条家経)

Ietsune ICHIJO (December 22, 1248 - January 8, 1294) was a Kugyo (high court noble) during the Kamakura period. His father was Sanetsune ICHIJO. His mother was 藤原有信女. Saneie ICHIJO, Moronaga ICHIJO, Tadasuke ICHIJO, and Iefusa ICHIJO were his brothers. Uchizane ICHIJO, Nakasane ICHIJO, Jinkaku, and Dosho (Tendai Sect) were his children. His other name was Gokomyobuji.

Brief Personal History

In 1248, he was born as the child of Sanetsune ICHIJO in Kyoto. On December 24, 1257, he was conferred to Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank). On February 3, 1270, he was raised to Juichii (Junior First Rank). He served as the Naidaijin (the Minister of the Interior) from 1267 to 1268, the Udaijin (the Minister of the Right) from 1268 to 1269, the Sadaijin (the Minister of the Left) from 1269 to 1275, and the Sessho (regent) from 1274 to 1275. He passed away in 1293.
